With the long summer days here, it's time to make the most of those daylight hours, and your electric vehicle is itching to be driven somewhere fun. 

While most UK destinations and tourist attractions have electric charging stations nearby, having them on-site is always handy, as your EV can charge whilst you enjoy yourself. That’s why we’ve compiled the below list of the best EV-friendly UK destinations!

Thorpe Park

Not only does Thorpe Park have the UK's fastest roller coaster, the UK's only winged roller coaster, and the world's first horror-themed roller coaster; but it also has two on-site charging stations operated by BP Pulse.

To access these, you will need to purchase a car parking ticket (which includes the charging cost). The cheapest method to buy a ticket is online, costing £7. If you choose to pay on the day, it will cost between £8 - £10. To find out more and purchase your car parking ticket, click here

Chessington World of Adventures

Chessington World of Adventures boasts a theme park, zoo, sea life centre, and two on-site charging stations operated by Pod Point.

To access these, you will need to purchase a car parking ticket (which includes the charging cost) and bring your own charging leads. Parking is free if you are a hotel guest or a Merlin VIP Annual Pass holder. For all others, tickets must be purchased for £10. To find out more and purchase your car parking ticket, click here.

Center Parcs

If you’re planning on going on holiday to Center Parcs, good news - there are four charging stations at the Elvendon, Longleat, Sherwood, Whinfell and Woburn sites, operated by Pod Point.

It’s recommended that you book a charging point in advance, as this will guarantee and reserve a space for the first 3 - 4 nights of your stay. To find out more and reserve your charging point, click here.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter

While you’re exploring the wonders of the wizarding world, you can also be charging at one of the twenty-two on-site charging stations operated by Pod Point. Car parking is free at Warner Bros. Studio, but you will be required to pay for any charging. To find out more, click here.

Chester Zoo

At Chester Zoo you can rest assured that your vehicle will be topped up and charged while you’re away, looking at the 20,000 animals. There are twenty-six on-site charging stations operated by Pod Point.

Car parking is free at Chester Zoo, but you will be required to pay for any charging. To find out more, click here.

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

If naval history is your thing, then Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is the place to visit - spend time marvelling at Henry VIII’s flagship the Mary Rose, the Royal Navy's most famous warship the HMS Victory, and the world-famous HMS WARRIOR 1860. At the dockyard, there are four on-site charging stations operated by BP Pulse. You will need to pay for car parking and charging whilst at the dockyard. To find out more, click here.

Eden Project

Explore the world’s largest indoor forest while your vehicle charges. At the Eden Project, there are three on-site charging stations operated by Zero Carbon World and a further three charging stations operated by GeniePoint. Both parking and charging are free to visitors of the Eden Project but operate on a first-come, first-served basis. To find out more, click here

The Angel of the North

Antony Gormley's design has become one of the most viewed art pieces in the world, and if you fancy visiting and leaving with a full charge, you’re in luck! The Angel of the North car park has two on-site charging stations operated by Fastned. Parking is free but you will need to pay for charging. To find out more, click here.

Diggerland

The place where adults and children alike can operate real, fully-sized diggers and other construction machinery. With Diggerland sites in Kent, Devon, Durham and Yorkshire, there are multiple on-site Tesla charging stations which are free to use for visitors. Those who are not visiting Diggerland can also charge by paying a £5 fee (maximum of two hours). To find out more, click here.

Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition

The Loch Ness Centre and Exhibition opened over 30 years ago and explores the mystery of ‘Nessie’ through Scotland's geological past and folklore. There are two on-site charging stations operated by ChargePlace Scotland. To find out more, click here.
