Charging credits - what are they good for? Absolutely… everything.
At Electroverse there are many chances for our community to earn, win and use charging credits on the network, but what’s the point of this if you don’t know how to get or use them?
That’s why we’re here to break credits down - the what, the why and the how.

What is Electroverse credit and how can you get some?
Electroverse credits are something that has been around as long as Electroverse itself. To put it simply, they act as an additional way to pay for your charging sessions with Electroverse.
Credits are usually gifted in the form of codes (e.g. 1234-ABCD) and can be attained through many different ways:
Did you know that you can refer friends to Octopus Electroverse?
Did you also know that for each friend you refer, you’ll split £10 charging credit?
With no limit to the number of friends you can refer, this could be a great way to get some Electroverse credit.
To refer a friend, simply login to the app and go to your account. Click ‘refer a friend’ and either ‘share’ your unique link (via email or message) or ask your friend to scan the QR code presented on your screen.
Once a few steps have been completed, the credit will be sent to your accounts within 24 hours.

The Electroverse Monthly Photo Competition launched in November 2022 - a nice way for us to thank the EV community for uploading useful charge point photos.
Each month every Electroverse user has the chance to win up to £30 charging credit by uploading photos to the Electroverse app. There are three categories to enter:
Favourite firsts - be the first person to upload a photo toa specific charging location
Best seasonal photo - charging in the snow? Can you see autumn leaves in the background? Is the sky exceptionally blue and clear that day? Show us!
Most eye-catching photo - from the top of the Scottish highlands to the coast of Italy, there's a lot to be said for scenic charging (something you don't get from a petrol forecourt). Take a photo and upload it!

Zoom EV is helping people go electric by offering services such as EV benefits bundles and car sharing.
Along with many other perks, part of the EV benefits bundle is a £10 Electroverse joining credit.
As the name suggests, only new Electroverse customers can benefit from this - but that doesn’t mean existing customers go without, as we regularly run competitions with Zoom EV with plenty of extra credit up for grabs.
How to redeem and use Electroverse credits
Electroverse credits will likely come in the form of a code (e.g. 1234-ABCD) which will need to be redeemed. Fortunately, we’ve created a ‘Redeem a code’ section within your app account.
Simply head into your Electroverse app and tap on the ‘Redeem a code’ button from within the account settings. From here, you’ll be taken to a page where you can input your code.
Credit codes will only contain characters between A-F and 0-9, so if you receive an error message, please check you haven’t entered an O instead of a 0!
Once the code has been redeemed it can take up to 24 hours for a credit to be applied. If it’s been over 24 hours, just reach out to us and will take a look to see what’s happened (hello@electroverse.com).
If you have any Electroverse credits, they will be automatically applied to your next charging session. Depending on how much credit you have on your Electroverse account, and how much the charging session totals, the credit might cover the entire session. However, if you only have enough credit for a partial payment, the remaining balance will be charged from whichever payment method you have linked.
Credits can only be used in the currency they are given. For example, if you are credited £5, you can’t use this France where the currency is in € Euros.
You can easily check your Electroverse credit balance from within your Electroverse account.
Just head into the Profile section and take a look at the Electroverse credits sections (it will appear instantly) - any and all credits on your account can be found here!
If you have any Electroverse credits, they will be automatically applied to your next charging session and the balance will be updated once the session is billed.
It’s worth noting that any Electroverse charging credit received via referral, sign-up or other means can only be redeemed by charging on the Electroverse network. It cannot be refunded to bank accounts or other Octopus Energy accounts.
