It’s festival season - the perfect time to get in your EV and go on a road trip to see your favourite bands!

Below we have a list of festivals with EV charging on site or plenty of public EV charging locations nearby! This way, whilst others are getting stuck in the mud waiting for the coach, you’re already sneaking away; ready for a quiet, healing drive home from a weekend of fun.

Latitude

🗓 Upcoming dates: 25th - 28th July 2024

🎶 Festival info: Latitude takes place every year in Henham Park, Suffolk! With a mixture of music and arts at this festival, its diversity makes it a place for everyone and anyone to enjoy! There’s even a family campsite if you want to bring along the little ones (16 and under).

Top tip: Head to the Welfare Tent if you feel ill or unwell whilst at the festival, there will be medical staff on hand 24 hours a day to advise and treat you! They’re happy to help with all forms of practical and personal problems and, don’t worry, everything will be kept confidential.

Wilderness festival

🗓 Upcoming dates: 1st - 4th August 2024

🎶 Festival info: Taking place in Cornbury Park, just North West of Oxford, this festival will bring you back to nature! Although they always have great music, Wilderness is an all-in-all experience, with plenty of food and wellbeing classes you can get involved in and learn some awesome skills! Indulgence is the theme, with lots of feasting and spa experiences available so you can also relax within your weekend of partying.

Top tip: For each day you’re at Wilderness, there’s a different dress theme! It’s worth checking out the themes beforehand so you’re ready to serve some awesome looks when the time comes! They encourage you to keep sustainability in mind when creating your costumes, whether this is upcycling old clothes or borrowing from a friend.

🎶 Festival info: Just to the north of Newquay, Cornwall, on Trebelsue Farm (TR8 4AN) Boadmasters is a 5 day, epic festival! With the gorgeous Cornish coast as the backdrop, this festival has the surf and beach lifestyle of Cornwall combined with the party life of our other UK festivals.

🎶 Festival info: Held over two weekends, this festival takes place in Victoria Park, London! With six days of music to choose from, you can mix it up between multiple genres and fun activities.

Reading Festival

🗓 Upcoming dates: 21 Aug – 25 Aug 2024

🎶 Festival info: Just West of London, Reading takes place in the large town of - you guessed it - Reading! The first Reading festival took place over 50 years ago, in 1971, a festival of arts that put the (originally) small town on the map. Since then the festival has bloomed; with music ranging from rock to indie, this festival brings in hundreds of thousands of people - over 105,000 in 2023!

🎶 Festival info: You have a decision to make - Leeds Festival and Reading Festival are twins and take place on the same weekend! Whether their location is nearer to you or the line-up is more your cup of tea, something you don’t need to worry about is EV charging as both locations have locations nearby!

Top tip: If you have any broken or unusable tents/camping equipment, take them to one of the onsite Recycling Points, you don’t need to leave them behind. You can also collect recycling bags from these points and help limit the environmental impact of the festival - one bag at a time!

Creamfields

🎶 Festival info: Located in the countryside of Cheshire, on the outskirts of a little village called Daresbury, Creamfields sits between Liverpool and Manchester. Get your dancing shoes on because this festival is all about electronic dance music, with an impressive lineup of DJs and artists across multiple stages to keep you on your toes!

Top tip: Sat navs aren’t the best in the countryside and roads will be closed for the festival - it’s best to get to the Daresbury area and then simply follow the clear signposting Creamfields are providing to the festival!

🎶 Festival info: This one is for all the rockers out there! Held annually in Donnington Park, Leicestershire, Download is for anyone who loves some head-banging music - with a mixture of hard rock, heavy metal and punk. This festival has been ongoing since 2003, second only to Glastonbury when it comes to UK festival fans!

Top tip: It’s not all about the music! Download is all about community and being yourself - this is the perfect festival to dress and act how you want without judgement. You can also take part in crazy events and competitions such as the chilli eating competition that took place at Download 2024!

Glastonbury Festival

🎶 Festival info: Based just South of Bristol, Glastonbury is one of the most well-known UK festivals! Getting tickets has become quite competitive but, if you manage it you’re in for a pretty awesome long weekend! This huge festival will provide you with plenty of exciting, famous headliners and tons of different areas to explore. Plus, before the festival has even begun, travelling to Glastonbury in your EV means you can enjoy the gorgeous surrounding views of Somerset!

Top tip: You don’t want to lose your car keys in the hectic weekend of Glasto! Once you’re parked up in one of the festival car parks, you have the option to lock your car keys into one of the free property lockups provided on site. Don’t worry - you can reclaim your keys anytime if you need to return to your car!
