How to order Electrocards from the Octopus Electroverse for Business platform
If you’re a fleet admin and have successfully set up your Octopus Electroverse for Business account, ordering Electrocards should be the next thing on your to-do list!
Did you know that Electrocards not only get your drivers' access to more EV charge points on the network (around 850,000!), but they're also not reliant on data signal - meaning if you're somewhere with dodgy reception, the Electrocard will still work. They really are magic!
Not sure how to order Electrocards for your drivers? Not to worry - just keep reading - we've written some helpful hints to get you started.
Let’s get plugged in…
How do I order Electrocards?
To order Electrocards, log in to your Electroverse for Business account, then:
From the left-hand sidebar, click Electrocards > Order Electrocards. A pop up box will appear, asking you to select the number of Electrocards you’d like to order. You can order 1 Electrocard per driver.
To order Electrocards, you first need to add drivers to your account. You can either do this manually or upload the drivers through a CSV file!
Your Electrocards will arrive at your chosen delivery address in 5-6 working days
When the Electrocards arrive, log into the platform and assign a card to each driver - this means you’ll be able automatically track receipts and charging sessions to an individual driver, no more guessing or having to ask drivers to keep/upload receipts.
Once assigned, they're ready to use!
What is an Electrocard?
An Electrocard is a Radio-Frequency-Identification (RFID) card
Each Electrocard has a unique ID reference - when a card is tapped on a charge point RFID reader, the unique code is read and authorises the charging session's start (and stop)
RFID cards' easy-tap system is where our saying 'one-tap access to thousands of chargers' came from!
What happens if Electrocards are lost?
Things go missing all the time - not to worry!
If an Electrocard has gone walkabout, just head into your Electroverse for Business account and from the left toolbar, select drivers.
Select the affected driver profile. From their profile you’ll see the assigned Electrocard and an option to ‘deactivate’. Just tap this button and the card will be deactivated - meaning no one will be able to charge with it.
What happens if Electrocards are not working?
If any Electrocards you’ve received fail to start a charging session, we’d recommend first checking that the card has been correctly assigned within the platform.
If the card is correctly assigned and errors at some locations, it’s fairly likely that there is an issue with the charge point hardware - for this, you’ll need to contact the charge point operator directly. You can find their relevant contact information from within the Electroverse app. Just tap on the charger location pin and pull up the information tab. Phone numbers and/or emails should be included.
If the card errors at every location you attempt to charge at, then please get in touch. For all Business queries, you can reach us at: fleets@electroverse.com.
